of Welfare Reform in California for California's Health and Welfare Agency
(HWA) and Health and Welfare Data Center (HWDC). This exhaustive research
project included in-depth, highly structured interviews with service providers,
state and local social service organizations, legislators, and stakeholders
in all of California's fifty-eight counties.
Statewide Automated Welfare System - Technical Architecture
(SAWS-TA)
The Point Group performed independent verification and validation
(IV&V) research and project management for HWDC's Statewide Automated
Welfare System - Technical Architecture (SAWS-TA). The Point Group provided
IV&V research and project management consulting services to determine
the feasibility, capacity, and likely operability of the new project.
We identified, analyzed, and reviewed the business, operational, process,
programmatic, and technical architecture to ensure that the system would
meet the data sharing requirements of critical eligibility and service
delivery data.
New Hampshire State Police
Paperless Environment
The Point Group was engaged by the New Hampshire Division
of State Police to assess current operations (technical and operational)
and develop an approach to migrate the Division to a "paperless"
work environment. The move to a paperless environment was part of the
Division's overall business strategy. The project was performed to assess
the current environment, recommend a target environment and outline a
plan to get to the target environment.
Massachusetts Trial Courts
IT Plan Development
The Point Group was responsible for the development of an
integrated information technology plan for the Commonwealth's Trial Court.
The basis for the plan, developed and funded by the legislature, was an
exhaustive study of the common and unique business requirements of each
department within the Trial Court and the ability of the current technical
architecture and systems to meet these requirements. The requirements
assessment and study conducted by The Point Group identified the organizational,
management, functional and technological requirements of the Trial Court.
