The Point Group has extensive experience in assisting state and local public safety organizations across the nation. The Point Group has worked with numerous agencies to assess their use of technology and how that technology can best support their business mission and goals. We have helped agencies plan for their use of new technologies, assisted in procuring and/or managing outside resources to deliver new technologies, and designed and implemented new technologies.
Public Safety & Justice Experience
The Point Group offers over 200 years of combined public safety and justice experience to our clients. Examples of our work with public safety organizations include:
- Assessed and analyzed business processes and technologies for the Massachusetts Department of Correction
- Assessed, analyzed and recommended business process and technology changes to implement imaging technologies for the Rhode Island Department of Corrections
- Assessed, planned and implemented correctional management systems in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Michigan
- Managed the system integration effort (in conjunction with a Big 5 vendor) for a large correctional facility
- Planned, designed, developed and implemented automated applications for a county correctional facility
- Assessed, analyzed and planned the migration of the New Hampshire State Police to a paperless environment
- Managed the assessment, analysis, specification development and procurement of a new records management system for the Rhode Island State Police
- Assessed, analyzed, and developed specifications and implementation plans for Computer Aided Dispatch systems and Records Management systems in Florida, New Jersey and Rhode Island
- Researched local police departments readiness for E911 for the Rhode Island State Police
- Assessed, analyzed, developed and implemented MDT/MDC networks in New Jersey
- Assessed and planned for the installation of Law Enforcement Message Switching systems in Rhode Island and New Hampshire
- Assessed, analyzed and planned court automation projects in Massachusetts, Missouri, Minnesota, Florida, Utah, Vermont and California
- Researched best practices of "the paperless police car" for the New Hampshire State Police
- Designed and implemented an integrated criminal justice solution in Vermont
- Assessed, analyzed and recommended Automated Fingerprint Identification system (AFIS) technology for the City of Boston and the Massachusetts State Police
