Access 2000 Support
The purpose of this engagement was to provide management support services to the Department of Social Welfare Division of Computer Services to ensure the successful planning, design and implementation of their "ACCESS 2000" initiative. This technology initiative will enable DSW to improve the efficiency, accountability, accessibility and cost-effectiveness of the DSW systems.
The support services included an analysis of current systems and new technologies that will enable the effective delivery of ACCESS 2000 modernization in Vermont. The Point Group provided specific recommendations on how the DSW can improve the delivery of such services through the expanded use of innovative information technologies.
The Point Group performed a variety of administrative and support functions including:
- researching available technologies and similar initiatives in other states
- developing reports regarding the results of the research
- solicit input from DSW users, OCS users, Computer Services
- Division ACCESS 2000 team personnel, and others as necessary
- providing recommendations to the Project Manager and the Project Management Team
- composing major project documents (RFP's, APD's, etc.)
- guiding documents through review procedures
- reviewing proposals and assistance in evaluations
- monitoring the fulfillment of resulting contractual obligations
- notifying the Project Manager immediately when/if implementing vendor is not making satisfactory progress
- completing reports, documents and presentations regarding the ACCESS 2000 project, as required
- completing a final report outlining the work completed, the resulting system and the final budget for the ACCESS 2000 project
The Point Group recently submitted its final report to DSW outlining a number of findings and recommendations to DSW that met the criteria listed above.
